About Us
FLORA HARRISON AND NEEMA HARRISON are the Founders and Managing Directors of This MACHO organization, inspired by personal experiences a shared passion for aiding visually impaired children, decided to establish the organization. Motivated by a desire to make a positive impact, they likely encountered challenges, sought support, and collaborated with experts to create a space where blind children could receive valuable assistance, education, and support for a brighter future.
MACHO is a non-profit dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of blind children by providing comprehensive support and empowerment.
Our mission is to foster a world where every visually impaired child has the resources and opportunities to thrive.
MACHO in swahili (Africa's official language) means eyes. In English is described as

showing no emotion in a way
traditionally thought to be typical of boys by seeming strong and powerful but
also seeming too determined to avoid sh owing weakness and sympathy and yet girls can take on
relevant responsibilities as well as the boys.
According to the World Health Organization (2017) estimates:

loss that impacts their ability to learn; and
*12 million (63%) of these 19 million children are believed to have easily-correctable refractive
errors that go uncorrected, but impact learning nevertheless.
